So what is this?

Welcome to Seven Moms. We are seven friends that regularly share our life stress and chaos, prayer requests, and general vent-type stuff with each other. One friend said, "Hey, I think we have a bunch of wisdom that we can share with other people. Why don't we start a blog?"

We write just once a month, all on the same topic, and no one sees the others' blog posts until they are posted here, to remove that awful comparison monster and to let the Holy Spirit do His thing. Some months we only have five posts, some we have all seven. But in the midst of life, sometimes posts don't get written. And if we are one thing, we are real.

So here we are. We don't have all the answers, but we do love people and Jesus with pretty much all we have. Enjoy our blogs and let us know what you think, either by leaving a comment or emailing us at sevenmomsblog@gmail.com. Thanks!

Transformation --Grace

He came home from college and began sharing with me and his Dad about leading a young woman to Christ in the UF library in the wee hours of the morning.  What started out as a study session
gradually turned to deeper matters and a classmate's revelation of the emptiness in her soul.  Travis and his friend Kyle were empowered to share the answer to this emptiness and longing this student had. Jesus Christ brought her peace and transformation like she had never known before.

The transforming power of the gospel. It's amazing to see it in the lives of your children.  My oldest son, Travis, was a rather shy, reserved child growing up.  He was not one to speak out in class and often sat "in a dark corner of the room" during Sunday School, as he once put it. He did, however, have a tender heart towards the things of the Lord.  I remember as a young boy, he would pray for God to "send missionaries into the world wherever there were no  missionaries."  God heard that sincere prayer and began to cultivate that "missionary heart" into Travis' heart.

God began to place a calling on Travis to preach the gospel and take the message of Christ to those who haven't heard. Throughout high school and now in college, I have seen the transforming power of the gospel at work in my son. In high school, he began getting up early on Sundays to go and minister to the homeless In downtown.  He became the Chaplain at his school and preached a message at chapel.  He travelled to Argentina, Germany and Brazil on mission trips. He dreams of going to far away lands to take this message of Hope to the dark places in this world.  In the next few months he will go to one of these dark places with this message.  It's inspiring to witness.

This transforming power is available to each one of us.  As Christians, the Holy Spirit lives in us and gives us the power and strength to walk a new kind of life.  We just have to tap into it. We all have this same Holy Spirit that comes when we give our lives to Christ.  Oh how I need His  transformation in my life everyday!  Oh how thankful I am to see it in the life of my son. How I pray it will permeate my entire family, starting with me.
